Lake Havasu Visit
I have been shooting a lot of sets lately. Couple of weeks ago, I went to Lake Havasu.
It is a large reservoir behind Parker Dam on the Colorado River, on the border between California and Arizona.
Lake Havasu is also a home to the world-famous London Bridge. What is really interesting, is that the bridge is really London Bridge...:)
They shipped each piece from London!
I heard about this place few times from friends, they told me that I should go and...you know, like it's really nice there and it is not that far from the LA metro area.
I have to be honest with you, I did not expect much from this trip, but boy, was I wrong! hehe
I was impressed from the first moment we drove into Lake Havasu. I got this feeling, that everything was really neat, new, clean and most importantly...comfortable. The place made me feel great, even though it was like 110 degrees warm. I checked into an amazing hotel overlooking the London Bridge and the canal leading boats to the lake.
A friend of mine has really amazing boat, we took it on the water the same day we came. The sun was already leaving the horizon, there were literally no other boats on this huge lake, water was calm and the weather, that is really hard to explain, oh..here is a word for the weather.....PERFECT!!!
We took our boat in this beautiful part of the lake, it was like little hideaway, like small lagoon with huge red rock watching over you from way up high. In daytime, the brave ones jump from these 50 feet tall cliffs. I don't think I would do that...:( hehe It's totally crazy!
But when we got here, it was almost dark. We stopped our boat I jumped into the water, which temperature by the way couldn't be any more perfect.... and enjoyed this perfect night. By this time, it was totally dark, but the sky was full of stars, it looked like million little light bulbs far far away lighting up this cloudless night. Even though we had this huge stereo system on our boat and you know me, I love to go crazy with music, but this moment was so perfect, that we turn the music off and just enjoyed this quiet piecefull night.
Next morning, I did a shoot in my room. My room was really nice and I can't wait to show you the photoset. After the shoot we took our boat on the lake again, this time we had the whole day to ourselves. We were riding up the Colorado river. The beauty was breathtaking. I can't remember how many times I yelled and screemed....WOOOOW....look! WOOOOW....loook! I know it sounds silly, but I really wish you'd go there one day and see for yourself. I will post some snapthost from this trip, but still....YOU HAVE TO GO!!!!
I have to say that this was an amazing trip with great friends, It was another very new experience for me and I'm really happy that I can share it with you. If you have experience like that or something you'd like to share, please share it with me. You know my email, or you can share it on our forum. I'd love to know more about you.
